Research state felony disenfranchisement and participate in the Right to Vote Coalition working to restore the right of felons to vote.
DESCRIPTION
The Sentencing Project is a national organization that is a leader in the development of alternative sentencing programs and in research and advocacy on criminal justice policy. The organization is known for its policy initiatives challenging over-incarceration, harsh sentencing practices, and racial disparity in the criminal justice system. The Sentencing Project has also played a leading role in addressing felony disenfranchisement laws that exclude four million Americans from voting as a result of a current or previous felony conviction.
