WHAT'S NEW

New Hampshire Citizen Alliance

New Hampshire Citizen Alliance has a paid staff member who is coordinating with over 40 other voter participation organizations and projects. They have held coordination meetings and legal trainings. NH Citizens Alliance (NHCA) is working with a variety of 501c3 organizations at the state and local level to share information and help coordinate civic participation activities.  Building upon our Rolling Thunder event of last September (an event co-sponsored by 45 organizations interested in increasing civic participation in NH), NHCA has met individually with key organizations and have begun to bring organizations and activists together at the local level in six key areas of the state: North Country, Exeter/southern seacoast, Manchester, Concord, Nashua and Keene.  We are working particularly with organizations of color and Latino groups in Manchester/Nashua and we are working to build capacity among gay/lesbian groups in NH.  We hosted an Alliance for Justice training for 501c3's in early February and our next statewide meeting/training is being planned for late April, to focus on how to register people to vote.
